Aims of the meeting
The event was intended to provide an opportunity for any interested party to gain first hand knowledge of developments in Key Action III - "Multimedia Contents and Tools" of the IST programme. The broad objectives of the meeting were to provide:
- a debate on "Web Development in the Future", (developed in consultation with the EPIFOCAL project)
- Project Concertation sessions
- Proposal clinics, providing attendees the opportunity to meet EC staff face to face, to discuss proposal ideas relating to the 4th Call for Proposals
- an opportunity for participants to network and to present their own ideas.
The Open House was targeted especially towards parties who have already started to develop proposals and who are interested in validating key concepts.
Ample room was provided for proposers to meet with their peers, to discuss issues of common interest, form consortia, etc.
Presentations
A number of presentations from the meeting are now available from this page. Where indicated, in the agenda below, PowerPoint presentations can be viewed online.
The Commission has made the presentations available for download from Cordis as a zipped file. In addition conclusions drawn by the rapporteur of the meeting have been published as a downloadable Word document. Encouraged by the positive outcome, over 200 people attended the event, the Commission is planning to repeat this type of workshop "early in 2001".
